Vacation Overview Discover three or Eastern Canada’s great cities on this 10-day vacation. Start in Montréal, Canada’s second-largest city and one of her liveliest. Enjoy a sightseeing tour with plenty of time to explore on your own. Perhaps visit the Montréal Biodome, a combined botanical garden, aquarium, and zoo, or maybe explore the Viuex (Old) Port, the busy art and entertainment hub of the city. Then, travel by train to Québec City, with plenty of free time for independent activities after your sightseeing tour. The only walled city in Canada, Québec City has a definite European feel. The historical section is the only urban area in North America that is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend time exploring the many historic sites, travel over the Ile d’Orleans, view Montmorency Falls, or see Old World houses in Lower Town. Next, travel to cosmopolitan Toronto, Canada’s largest city. Named for the Huron Indian word for “meeting place,” the area was well used in that role, thanks to its naturally protected harbor. Today it has a theater scene rivaled only by London and New York City; some of the best dining the world has to offer; year-round international festivals of film, culture, and music; and miles of waterfront, beaches, boardwalks, and trails. For breathtaking views of the city and its surroundings, try the famous CN Tower, the world’s tallest freestanding structure at over 1,815 feet.
