1. Arrive Calgary / Kananaskis
Tour departs: 3:00 PM from Calgary International Airport. Guests spending the previous night in Calgary will be picked up at The Fairmont Palliser at 12:45 PM, then Delta Bow Valley or The Westin Calgary between 1:00 PM and 1:10 PM. Please join us this evening for a welcome reception and dinner. Meals D 2. Emerald Lake / Lake Louise See three of the most beautiful lakes in North America today as you journey into the wilderness of the Canadian Rockies. Travel across the Continental Divide through Kicking Horse Pass to exquisite Emerald Lake, set among soaring mountain peaks in Yoho National Park. See the famous Spiral Tunnels of the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Natural Bridge, carved through solid rock, before visiting Moraine Lake, conditions permitting; the crystal-clear lake is nestled in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Your final destination is Lake Louise, located at the foot of Victoria Glacier – in spring, there often is late snow framing the lake with lofty snowbound peaks. Spend the night at one of the Rocky Mountains’ premier resorts, The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Meals BLD 3. Travel the Memorable Icefields Parkway Spend a morning at leisure on nature walks surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery in North America. After lunch, head off to Jasper National Park along the Icefields Parkway, a spectacular stretch of highway commanding a panoramic view of mountains, glaciers, waterfalls, and snowfields. Mountain goats, elk, deer, and bighorn sheep are most likely to be seen in the months of May, September, and October. Arrive at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, nestled between the lake and the mountains in the heart of Jasper National Park. Meals BLD 4. Columbia Icefield/Banff National Park Return to Banff National Park, crown jewel of the Rockies. Retrace your route along the Icefields Parkway, and see the park from different vantage points. View Athabasca Falls and the two peaks framing Athabasca Glacier; this glacier originates in the Columbia Icefield, whose waters flow into the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic oceans. Take a memorable climb up the surface of the glacier aboard a specially designed Ice Explorer vehicle, then travel on to The Fairmont Banff Springs, an alpine resort styled after a Scottish castle.
